Annual Inflation Adjustment for Membership Dues, Effective 1/1/2009
An IABC International Executive Board motion approved in June 2003 requires the Executive Board to review international membership dues annually and adjust them in tandem with pricing data from an objective source-in this case, data from The Economist. This systematic approach eliminates the need for large "correctional" increases on a more occasional basis.
While no one likes a dues increase of any size, particularly in this time of economic uncertainty, the costs of running IABC have increased. Thus, to maintain the same quality of programs, services, and member benefits, the association will by necessity implement an annual inflation adjustment on 1 January 2009.
Members can renew throughout 2008 to capture an additional year at the current rate. All members are eligible to renew at current rates, regardless of membership expiration date.
IABC also offers a payment plan that allows members to spread their dues payments over four consecutive months instead of paying them in one lump sum. There is a US$20 charge for this convenience. Details can be found at four_monthly_payments.html.
Finally, if a member experiences significant financial hardship due to job loss or other extreme circumstance, he or she should contact IABC Headquarters at info@iabc.com.ph and explain the situation in an email. Depending on membership longevity and the individual circumstances, IABC grants extensions of up to 2 to 6 months. Your email will be handled in confidence.
